This is the 'General' FAQs page that contains general information on using Bedroom Genius such as creating an account, password reset, security and how to enter competitions.

Click on ‘Invite my friends’ on the menu bar on your own profile page once logged in. You can import contacts from your e-mail accounts by completing the ‘Import Contacts’ section with your e-mail address (e.g. yourusername@yahoo.com) and the Service provider (i.e. Yahoo) and then the password you use for that account. Repeat this for each e-mail account you want to import contacts from.
Click on ‘Request password’ on the homepage then fill in your e-mail address and a new activation link will be sent to you.
Once you are logged in, click on ‘Edit my login details’ on the menu bar and click on ‘Change password’ filling in the necessary fields with the new password you want to use.
Once you are logged in, click on ‘Edit my login details’ and overwrite the e-mail you wish to use in the field where your existing your e-mail is.
This will change will not be activated unless you scroll down and click the ‘Submit’ button and then follow the activation link that is then sent to the new e-mail address you’ve just supplied.
Bedroom Genius takes online abuse very seriously. If you come across any abuse or are subject to abuse, please click on ‘Contact’, main menu bottom-right making sure you put ‘Report Abuse’ in the title of your e-mail so we know to give it our urgent attention.
For any reports of abuse, we will take the necessary action to address the situation in a fair and balanced manner as swiftly as possible.
You first need to log in as a member or create an account to submit an entry into the competition.
BEFORE YOU START you must upload the item you want to enter to your gallery. (Each item must be uploaded singly, not in an album otherwise we can’t tell which one you’ve entered.)
a) Click on ‘Add to Cart’ on the BG Competition page and choose how many entries you wish to make.
b) Click ‘Checkout’ and select your billing address (Please note: if you have not purchased with Bedroom Genius before, you will be taken to your address book to add a billing address).
c) Click ‘Continue’ and check the details of you order are correct and click ‘Place your order’.
d) This will take you to the Google checkout that will require you to either login (if you have an existing Google Account) or input your details (including username/password) to set up an account.
e) You will then be taken to Google’s secure checkout where you can input your payment details and place your order, this is then confirmed by you once again.
f) A ‘purchase complete’ message will appear from Google along with a message from us, follow the ‘Click here to retrieve your purchase’ link. You are now done with processing your entry fee.
g) You’re now back at your Bedroom Genius message inbox, open the message for your competition entry and the first link will take you to your gallery. You will notice that each gallery item now has a new ‘Submit’ link that allows you to enter it into the competition.
h) TAKE CARE to enter a single item. If you choose a whole album, the whole album will appear as one entry. (If you do happen to make this mistake, you cannot de-select the gallery item and choose a different one for your entry fee, the only way to make it clear which item is your entry, is to delete the rest of the album, leaving a single item.
i) For each item you wish to enter all you have to do is click the ‘Submit’ link.
j) Once you have submitted your entry (entries), beneath each item it will read 'Entered into...'. A link to your entry (entries) will also be displayed on the competition page.

A cookie is a small string of text that’s sent by a web server to a user’s browser (i.e. from Bedroom Genius to your computer). Sending cookies is normal practice when a site needs memory of what its users’ preferences are. Bedroom Genius uses cookies to track its members’ choices on the site (such as login or registration identification).
Your computer’s browser saves the cookie information and sends it back to the Bedroom Genius web server whenever your browser returns to the Bedroom Genius website. Browsers can be set to alert you when a cookie is being sent so you have the option to refuse or accept cookies – to use Bedroom Genius effectively you do need to accept Bedroom Genius’s cookies. Check to make sure you haven’t set your computer to refuse all cookies.
Please note: No personal information is contained in any cookies used by Bedroom Genius. Your computer isn’t at risk from any viruses when accepting cookies from this site.
Examples of how to enable cookies on YOUR computer:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+ - Select ‘Internet Options’ from the Tools menu. Click on the ‘Privacy’ tab. Click the ‘Default’ button (or manually slide bar down to ‘Medium’) under ‘Settings’. Click ‘OK’.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x - Select ‘Internet Options’ from the Tools menu. Click on the ‘Security’ tab. Click the ‘Custom Level’ button. Scroll down to the ‘Cookies’ section. To enable: set ‘Allow cookies that are stored on your computer’ to ‘Enable’ and set ‘Allow per-session cookies’ to ‘Enable’. Click ‘OK’.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x - Select ‘Internet Options’ from the View menu. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab. Scroll down to find ‘Cookies’ within the ‘Security’ section. To enable, select ‘Always accept cookies’. Click ‘OK’.
Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier) Go to the Tools menu. Select ‘Options’. Select the ‘Privacy’ icon in the left panel. Check the box corresponding to ‘Allow sites to set cookies’. Click ‘OK’ to save changes.
Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0 Select ‘Preferences’ from the Edit menu. Click on the arrow next to ‘Privacy & Security’ in the scrolling window to expand. Under ‘Privacy & Security’, select ‘Cookies’. Select ‘Enable all cookies’. Click ‘OK’.
Netscape Communicator 4.x Select ‘Preferences’ from the Edit menu. Find the ‘Cookies’ section in the ‘Advanced’ category. To enable, select ‘Accept all cookies’ (or ‘Enable all cookies’). Click ‘OK’.
Safari 1.3+ Select ‘Preferences’ from the Safari menu. Click on the ‘Security’ icon. Scroll down to the ‘Accept cookies’ . To enable, set ‘Always’ to ‘Enable’, select ‘Only from sites you navigate’ to ‘Enable’. Click ‘OK’ on red icon in top left-hand corner.
Once completed close all internet browser windows that are now open and re-open a new browser window. Type in our website address and login to your account.
